  Foth Derby (original)

The Foth Derby camera was manufactured by C.F. Foth & Company. The first version was introduced in 1930 and ended in 1932. It was advertised as "The smallest camera in the world with a focal plane shutter". This original camera version was designed to capture sixteen 24 x 36mm exposures on standard no. 127 roll film. Later versions of this camera increased the negative size to 3 x 4 cm. It also featured a folding newton type view finder. The camera was fitted with a Foth Anastigmat f3.5, 50mm lens. The focal plane shutter provided speeds from 1/25 to 1/100th of a second. There was a slightly later model produced in circa 1930 that had a telescopic view finder and the same exposure size.
