The Quadratische Reise-kamera (Special Model) or Square Traveling Camera Special was manufactured by Curt Bentzin Camera Company in circa 1915. It was similar to the improved square Quadratische Reise-kamera having rising front, ground glass focus in rear and the hand cranked triple extension length adjustment. This special model, model VIIb, was specifically constructed with teak wood and nickel fittings for use in tropical climates and for scientific expeditions. A highly polished wood field camera made to with stand extreme tropical temperature and humidity environments. Made in various sizes, including a 13 x 18, 18 x 24, 24 x 30 and 30 x 40 cm.
