  Bentzin Universal-Primar Camera


The Universal-Primar camera was manufactured by Bentzin Camera company from approximately c1912 to c1926. The universal-Primar could be used for either single shot or stereo work. I features a unique focal plane shutter which can be rotated for landscape or portrait work. The camera was made in two sizes, a 9 x 12 cm and a 13 x 18 cm, accepting both plates and flat film. The camera was constructed of wood and metal with leather covering. The long extension bellows we made from leather. The lens board is adjustable to be able to perform up and down shots without moving the camera. Equipped with a cross-hair finder and dragonfly. Fitted with a Zeiss Tessar, a Zeiss-Doppel-Protar or a Zeiss-Doppel-Amatar.
