The Ellison Kamra was the only camera produced by Los Angeles, California based Ellison Kamra Company. The company was founded around 1926 by Michael Ellison and Edward McAuliffe to implement their patent for a novel two blade shutter mechanism.
The Camera was manufactured in circa 1928. It was constructed of bakelite and accepted 35mm roll film in special box-shaped bakelite cassettes. It was fitted with a fixed focus f5 Wollensak lens. A front bakelite door opened to reveal the lens and door mounted brilliant view finder. A folding crank on the top of the body advanced the film and triggered the shutter when wound in reverse. The later QRS Kamra was based on this design.
