The Crouch Hand Camera was manufactured by Henry Crouch as identified in the 1886 advertisement displayed here, highlighting the Dresser shutter. I believe this camera mentioned in the ad was later renamed or was a predecessor to the "Presto" camera mentioned in an advertisement in 1891. It was box camera with a 24 plate automatic changer. Most likely made of wood and covered in leather. It featured a patented shutter designed by a Mr. A. R. Dresser who was and expert in hand and detective cameras and active in the 1880s and 90s.
