The Comet 44 Camera was manufactured by Bencini of Milan, Italy beginning in circa 1962. This was the continuation of the popular line of compact comet cameras with a restyled viewfinder housing. As the name implies the Comet 44 took 4 x 4 cm exposures on no. 127 roll film. Made of cast aluminum metal with leather trim covering. The camera was fitted with a telescoping Acromatico f8 55mm single meniscus lens in a Bencini shutter providing a two speeds of 1/50th and 1/100th of second, plus bulb. It also featured flash synchronization.
