The Cometa camera was manufactured by Bencini of Milan, Italy in circa 1950. The camera was made with an cast metal body with leather trim. It does not have a rangefinder even though the styling suggests it. It takes sixteen exposures on standard no. 127 roll film. It was fitted with a f9 fixed focus lens with an f9 and f11 aperture setting. The shutter provided a 1/50th and 1/100th of a second speeds plus bulb operated by a small lever on the side of the shutter housing. The Comet S name is located either on the front or top of the camera. It also featured a synchronized flash socket on the shutter housing.
