The British 'Millers Patent' box camera was manufactured by J.T. Chapman in circa 1898. This version of Chapman's detective style camera incorporated Miller's Patent as is indicated by the labeled on the inside of the camera by the lens Stating "The British" (Miller's Patent). Unlike the standard "the British" box camera it did not have the detective style pop up window to conceal the lens, rather simply a less deceptive round hole for the lens to capture the image quickly. It was constructed of polished wood with brass fittings. The camera accepted 3 1/6 x 4 1/3 inch size plates. It featured a falling plate mechanism, a roller blind shutter and rack focusing.
