  APM Beltrex camera

The Beltrex camera was manufactured by the Amalgamated Photographic Materials company in circa 1929. It was similar to the Altrex camera in size but with a de luxe finish. The camera was constructed of Aluminum with a black leather covering. It was a folding bed pocket bellows camera capable of capturing six 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch exposures on roll film. Features included radial focusing with infinity point lock and a rising front. Early models were fitted with a Sector shutter providing speeds from 1 to 1/300th of a second, plus bulb and various lenses including a Kershaw Anastigmat f7.7 or f6.3, Beck Neostigmar f4.9, Cooke, Aviar f4.8, Ross Homo f6.3, Ross Xpres f4.5, or a Dallmeyer Serrac f4.5. . Later models can be found with lens shutter combinations including a single archromatic lens or rapid rectilinear f8 lens mounted on a Marvel shutter or a Kershaw Anastigmat f7.7 or f6.3 lens mounted in a General Shutter. The camera measured 6 3/4 x 2 7/8 x 1 1/4 inches and weighed 19 ounces. Prices ranged from 6£ 10s to 13£.
