The Univex Iris camera was manufactured by Universal Camera Corporation in circa 1938. It was constructed of die-cast alloy metal with black leatherette covering. The camera took six 1 1/8 x 1 1/2 inch exposures on no. 00 Univex roll film. It was fitted with a Vitar f7.9 50mm color corrected lens with an iris diaphragm and a Ilex 3-speed precision-built shutter providing Instantaneous, time and bulb speeds. The iris stops included f7.9, f11, f16 and f22. Other features included a hinged back to permit quick, easy loading, cable release coupling, parallax corrected optical view finder. The camera measures 5 x 2 x 1 15/16th inches and weighed 19.5 ounces. Originally priced at $4.95 usd.
