  J. Marynen & Company Camera Listing

Jean Marynen was born in 1855 and died in 1948. In 1883, He married Leonie Therese Isabelle De Bedts, the daughter of Courtrai photographer Auguste De Bedts. J. Marynen Produits Photographiques was located at 22 Montagne-Aux Herbes, Potageres, Brussels, Belgium then shortly thereafter moved to 33 Montagne-Aux Herbes, Potageres and in 1891 to 39 Montagne-Aux Herbes, Potageres. As early as 1886 this establishment was recorded as a workshop for photographic cabinet work and in 1889 as a camera constructor, general supplies for photography. Other locations on labels were at Gand, Ostende and Anvers. From 1901 to 1906 he is also listed to be in partnership as Marynen & Wauters located at 29 Avenue du Boulevard, Brussels. In 1904 the original shop moved to 17 Rue de la Blanchisserie, Brussels. The shop continued until circa 1914.
