  Betson's Hit-type Subminiature Camera

The Betson's hit-type camera was manufactured in Japan in circa 1950's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with leatherette covering. It has a metal face-plate imprinted with the name Betson's with three stars on each side and the phrase "MADE IN JAPAN" on the bottom, dating the camera into the fifties. It took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
