The Blue Star hit-type camera was manufactured in occupied Japan in circa late 1940's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with leatherette covering. It has a metal face-plate imprinted with the name Blue Star in script on the top with one star on each side and the co name "Y.M.T Co. Ltd." printed on the bottom. It took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
