The Colly hit-type camera was manufactured in occupied Japan in circa 1950's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with leatherette covering. It was made in two variations. One was made with brushed metal face-plate imprinted with the name "COLLY" on the top with one star on each side and "CAMERA" printed on the bottom. The other version had a black face plate with COLLY printed on the top in script, three lines on each side and CAMERA printed on the bottom. It took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
