  Emson Hit-type Subminiature Camera

The Emson hit-type camera was manufactured in Japan in circa 1950's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with black leatherette covering. The camera was made with a black face-plate with the name EMSON imprinted on the top with three stars on each side and "MADE IN JAPAN" printed on the bottom. The camera took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
