The Fuji hit-type camera was manufactured in Japan in circa 1950's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with black leatherette covering. The camera was made in at least two variations. One with a plain metal face-plate with the name "FUJI" embossed on the top with three stars on each side and "JAPAN" embossed on the bottom. The other was a gold metal version with a black face-plate with the name "FUJI" imprinted on the top with three stars on each side and "JAPAN" printed on the bottom. Also the top viewfinder hpousing were different designs, but both had the words FUJI and JAPAN was engraved on it. The camera took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
