The GNCO hit-type camera was manufactured in Japan in circa 1950's. It was an inexpensive novelty camera that was constructed of molded pot-metal with leatherette covering. It featured a unique a design variation to most Hit-type cameras, whereas it had a metal back plate where the lens housing was mounted. The camera was made with a black & white face-plate with the name "GNCO" imprinted on the top with a series of circular lines printed on each side and "JAPAN" in small print on the bottom. The camera took 14×14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. The camera was fitted with a fixed focus lens and a simple instantaneous shutter.
