The Satellite hit-type camera was manufactured in Japan from an unknown manufacturer in circa 1945-1952. Designed as an inexpensive novelty camera, the Shalco camera was constructed of molded pot-metal with leatherette covering. It has a metal face-plate imprinted with the name SHALCO with three stars on each side and the phrase "MADE IN JAPAN" on the bottom. It took 14 x 14mm exposures on narrow paper-backed 17.5mm film. It was fitted with a single speed instantaneous shutter and a fixed focus lens.
