The Monroe Tourist Camera was manufactured by the Monroe Camera Company in circa 1897. Depicted is the Tourist camera no. 3 which takes 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch exposures. It was constructed of Aluminum and covered in black seal grain leather. It was fitted with a best quality Baush & Lomb single achromatic lens, two view finders and tripod sockets. It measures 1 3/4 x 4 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches when closed. Originally priced at $7.50.
