The Frena Max was manufactured by R.J. Beck Ltd beginning in approximately 1903. This camera captured quarter plate images 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches in size. Fitted with a double Meniscus Rectilinear lens. An optional Beck-Steinheil Lens, f6.3 was also available at a higher price. Capable of taking 40 flat films like other Frena cameras and also the changing mechanism can be adapted to utilize rwelve glass plates. The Frena Max with a rectilinear lens was priced at �2 18s 6d and the optional Beck-steinheil outfit priced at �9 9s 0d.
