The Hinton Express was marketed by Hinton & Co. of 38 Bedford St. Strand, London in circa 1898. Described as a quarter plate hand or stand camera being the smallest, lightest and simplest in the world. It was capable of processing twelve plates or films. It was well constructed and covered in morocco leather. It was fitted with a either a single lens and time and instantaneous shutter or a Rapid Rectilinear lens and an adjustable shutter with focus adjustments. The camera measured 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 4 inches and weighs 2 lbs, 13 ounces. The inexpensive model was priced at £3 and the R.R. model with focus was priced at £5 10s.
