The Duplex camera was introduced by the Marion & Co. of Soho Square London in circa 1903. This British made camera was convertible through the interchangeability of the back between a horizontal roll film camera and a dry plate camera. The operator can expose the roll film and then change the back for dry plates and continue shooting. It was fitted with a time, instantaneous and bulb shutter. The camera was considered a pocket camera measuring only 4 1/2 x 5 x 2 inches in the dry plate arrangement. It was made in two sizes, a quarter plate and a 4 x 5 inch. The Duplex camera retailed for 75 shillings and 85 shillings respectively.
