The Soho Reflex camera was designed, patented and manufactured by Kershaw Manufacturing Co. and sold through several camera firms including Marion & Company and Soho Limited, both of London, from approximately 1905 to 1940. The camera was constructed of wood and covered in black-leather with a black leather viewing hood and bellows with black enameled metal fittings. The camera was made in a variety of sizes including 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch, 4 1/4 x 3 1/4 inch or quarter plate size, 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch or postcard size, 5 x 4 inch, 4.5 x 6 cm, 9 x 6.5 cm, 9 x 12 cm, 10 x 15 cm and 12 x 16.5 cm. This camera featured a focal plane shutter capable of capturing exposures from 1/16 to 1/800 or 1/1000 of a second and time. Additional features included a full sized ground-glass focusing screen and leather folding shade hood, rising, falling and tilt front, rotating back for portrait or landscape photos, and rack and pinion focusing adjustment. The camera was made in various sizes and also sold tropical models.
