The Star No. 2 magazine hand camera was manufactured by the Marion & Company of London, in circa 1904. It was a box camera featured a door on the front to gain access to the lens assembly. It was fitted with a Beck rapid rectilinear lens and a Baush & Lomb "Junior" time and instantaneous shutter. It featured two brilliant view finders combined with tubular levels, three magnifiers which slide along the inside of the front door, dust cover, and a special safety mechanism with safety spring catch so that it is impossible to accidentally expose a plate. The magazine carried twelve quarter plates, housed in metal sheaths. The Star No. 2 magazine hand camera was priced at 42 shillings.
