The Students Photography Set or Beginners set was manufactured by the Marion & Co. of London in circa 1885. The intent was to provide a useful working set at minimum cost. This set featured a 4 x 5 camera fitted with a double combination portrait lens. The set was priced at £1 5s. Additional optional items were availabe for purchase including a leather case to carry the camera, slides, lenses and focusing cloth, Britannia dry plates, solutions, Alum, Hyposulphite of soda, ruby lamp, trays, etc.
