Ruberg-Futuro

Postby John_Kratz » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:31 am

Just wanted to show off one of my latest acquisitions. This is the red enameled version of the Ruberg-Futuro, a metal camera for 127 film, made in Germany circa 1933. They don't come up for sale very often, and when they do, the finish is invariably chipped. This is the nicest example I've ever seen.

Hi John
This camera is simply beautiful.
I did not know this model which is even not shown in the McKeown
The Fibiru, from the same maker, seems to show a similar metal body and was available in red or black marbelized enamel.

Ok. So are you gonna sell this one? If yes then I am very exited to buy it myself. I have been collecting old cameras. This is one among the oldest but amazing cameras, that I could not get my hands on. I hope you will sell it to me.

I recently purchased at the Bievre vintage camera fair (France) this variation called "Futuro" Instead of "Ruberg Futuro "
I did not find any information on the web about this specimen obviously dedicated to the French market.
This basic camera has one interesting feature: A small external button on the base of the body allows for switching at any moment between 4x6,5 and 3x4 cm formats. This button moves two internal levers. Each one moving a lateral rotating mask to reduce the format. The viewfinder has the same kind of rotating masks

It is my first time i visit here. I found so many entertaining stuff in your blog, especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the leisure here! Keep up the excellent work.
