Vesta Portrait Lens Series A... Looking For Value/Info

Postby RLong01 » Mon Dec 05, 2016 8:10 pm

I am brand new to HistoricCamera.com. I have quite a bit of antique equipment, most of which I have found info on eBay and other sites, but I was wondering if anyone could give me some info. on this old lens. I can't seem to find much information, or any idea of the value anywhere online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have three lenses to start with (I will list the other two separately since, as far as I can tell, I can only attach 3 pictures per post). My first item is a Vesta Portrait Lens Series A f-5. 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 No 2556. Wollensak Optical Co. Rochester, N. Y. U.S.A.
It is a brass lens, a little over 6" long and approximately 3.5" wide. It shows pretty significant scuffs and wear on the outside of the lens barrel. The elements all look like they are in very good condition, just dust (I have not attempted to clean anything as I know if not done properly it can damage the lens and significantly lower the value). Also, I don't know if it is supposed to have an aperture or not, but it does not have one. I have attached a few pictures.

Thank you very much, I truly appreciate any input.
