Leica 1936 IIIA Value

Postby fastjag » Sat Jun 22, 2013 5:30 am

I picked this up recently and it is a 1936 Leica model IIIA with a serial number 205701. That makes it the first model IIIA in that series. Additionally it has crocodile or Alligator leather skin. This may have been done due to it being the first camera off the line. I don't know. I believe it's serial number and case make it rare but I am no expert. Is there anyone who know what the value might be?Image

There are 18 divisions of the IIA series that range from $700 USD to $25K USD so it's hard to tell. What does the top of the camera have written on it, and could you post another picture of the top?
