Oddly configured view camera

Postby CaseyJ » Sun Aug 27, 2017 11:04 am

I am mainly interested in Digital photography having given up film and developer years ago. I am however interested in Antiques and yesterday I ran across this oddly configured Eastman view camera 33A at a give away price. I am curious why the two cameras are linked together front to front and then the front ( actually back of one) of the cameras fitted with a lens board. This makes a 26 inch camera with tilt shift at both ends. An anyone enlighten me as what what the purpose of such an arraangement was. Was this to just get more extension or some other purpose. I know nothing about view cameras and this may be a common arrangement. Thanks in advance.
