Jennings is considered an important figure in the world of late 19th and early 20th century photography. He is best known for his work capturing the first images of lightning and his sweeping aerial views taken from balloons and early airplanes. Included in this sale are numerous photographs and negatives of his family, aerial views, and much more. Please see the important material relating to Frederic Eugene Ives (1856-1937) and C. Francis Jenkins (1867 - 1934) who were both friends and colleagues of W.N. Jennings. Also offered in the auction is a signed work by Ansel Adams, World War I era press photographs and much more.
