  Bicycle Folding Cyclone No. 8 & 9

The Bicycle Folding Cyclone No. 8 & 9 cameras were sold by the Western Camera Manufacturing Company in circa 1898. The No. 8 was capable of taking 4 x 5 inch sized exposures and the No. 9 took 5 x 7 inch exposures. The cameras were constructed or the finest polished mahogany and covered with fine quality black grain morocco leather with the metal parts nickel plated and highly finished. The basic camera was fitted with an Instantaneous symmetrical lens, however a more costly lens option was with selecting a turner Reich Symmetrical lens. An improved shutter with iris diaphragm was included that allows for snap shots from 1 to 100th of a second, in addition time and bulb available. Features included a rear ground glass and a detachable focusing hood with a magnifying glass for accurate focusing, which eliminated the need for a focusing cloth. Other features included a rising and falling front with side swing, a reversible hooded finder, rack and pinion adjustment, a focusing scale, and two tripod sockets. The No. 8 was priced at 18.00 with basic lens and $25.00 for the No. 9. The Turner-Reich lens option increased the price to $38.00 and 50.00 respectively.
