The Dexter camera was one of the initial cameras sold by the new Western Camera Manufacturing Company at the start of the company in 1897. The Dexter camera was capable of taking 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch sized exposures on glass plates. It was later replaced by the Cyclone Junior. It featured a corrected achromatic lens and a time and instantaneous shutter. It was covered in black morocco grain leather. Originally priced at $4.00.
