The Benjamin French & Company was a importer and retailer of photographic supplies specializing in lenses from approximately the 1860's to the late-1800s. This photographic supply company was located at 319 Washingtons St., Boston, Massachusetts. The Benjamin French & Company sold Rochester Optical made Cameras, but is famous for being the sole U.S. Importers of the high quality french made Darlot camera lenses. the imported lens typically carried his trademark "B.F. & Co." in addtion to the Darlot stamp. He sold to many establishments including the Edward Anthony co. which will bear marks for the maufacturer Darlot and the retailer mark for Edward Anthony co.
