The camera was fitted with a self capping, Whitehead or Pyket focal-plane shutter. The winding key sets the shutter and serves for the adjustment of the width of the blind providing very rapid movement. The front bellows extends out twelve inches for the quarter plate. The front provides rising and falling a full inch and the rack and pinion provided smooth adjustment. The hood erects itself on rising the lid of the camera. The back can be rotated.
