  Leecrest Candid Camera

The Leecrest candid camera was marketed by the Lee Industries company of Chicago Illinois in circa 1940. It was the only camera Lee Industries sold. It was simple snaps shot camera constructed of plastic bakelite with a double element built-in optical view finder and a metal face plate. It was fitted with a simple fixed focus meniscus lens and time and instantaneous shutter. The Leecrest Miniature Candid camera captured sixteen exposures on no. 127 or A8 film. This camera design is part of the Chicago Common cameras produced in the 1940s. It was also sold by other companies including The Camera Man's President and Champion, the Drexel Camera Company's the Drexel Jr. Miniature, and others.
