  Stylex Camera

The Stylex Camera was made by the Herbert George Company of Chicago Illinois in circa 1950. It was unique rectangular design style with a telescoping front lens assembly. The camera was constructed of plastic. Two styles were made. The early style had simple lettering for Stylex as shown on the right and the new version was more artistically stylized as depicted below. It featured a built-in eye-level view finder, a fixed focus Stylar 88mm lens, a simple snap shot shutter and a detachable synchronized flash unit. It was capable of capturing large exposures sized 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches (6x9 cm) on number 620 roll film.
