The Al-Vista Model 5D was manufactured by the Multiscope & Film Co. of Burlington Wisconsin from approximately 1900 to 1908. This panoramic camera was advertised as providing five cameras in one. It was capable of being adapted for snap shot pictures accepting ordinary 4 x 5 daylight loading film on spools and adjusted for various panoramic negatives of different lengths including, 4 x 4, 4 x 6, 4 x 8, 4 x 10, and 4 x 14 inches. It was similar to the model 5B. The Al-Vista Model 5D provided standard Al-Vista features including a brilliant revolving view-finder, a film indicator showing when enough film is wound into position, a universal tripod socket, an extra rapid rectilinear lens, heavy nickel plated metal parts, covered in black morocco leather.
