The Bolsey BB Special Camera was designed and marketed by the Bolsey Corporation of America in circa 1954. The BB Special was a version of the model B2 specially designed for various scientific research applications as a kit. The camera was modified with special mount to support a telescoping lens, typically for work focusing to 2 feet for microfilm, medical, microscope, telescope, etc.
The camera, Like the model B, was constructed with metal covered in black imitation leather and the exposed metal parts were satin chrome plated. It had a built-in coupled split-image rangefinder, depth of focus scale and a film load indicator. It was fitted with a coated Wollensak f3.2 coated Cooke triplet 44mm lens. The shutter was self cocking with five speeds ranging from 1/10 to 1/200 of a second, time and bulb.
