The Graphic Camera was originally introduced by the Folmer & Schwing Manufacturing Company in 1898. Production continued to approximately 1906. This camera was the original model from which many of the other cameras were developed. Constructed of select kiln dried mahogany, lock jointed and reinforced. Covered in leather and provided with a red Russian leather bellows.
The features of the Graphic Camera included rack and pinion focusing adjustment, an extra heavy piano hinge with short knuckles for rigidity, rising and falling font, double swing and compound side shift, reversible hooded view finder, a large spring actuated panel for focusing, and two tripod plates. This camera came in 4 x 5, 5 x 7, and 8 x 10. Prices ranged from $30.00 to $64.00.
