The Purma Camera Ltd company was founded by Tom Purvis and Alfred C. Mayo in 1935 in Aberdare, Great Britain. Purma cameras were sold through the R.F. Hunter company and it is believed that Hunter was also the manufacturer with Purma company being the patent holders. In 1952 R.F. hunter stopped distribution and Purma Camera Ltd distributed the cameras into the 1960s.
