The Quadratische Reise-Camera or Square Travel Camera was manufactured by Bentzin Camera company in circa 1922. As the name implies, this camera has a square construction designed for travel pictures of portrait and landscape photography. Identified in the Bentzin catalog as model VII. Suitable for both amateurs and professionals. focus is accomplished by either rear or front adjustment. The cameras are constructed of either mahogany with polished and lacquered fittings or walnut with nickel plated fittings. The bellows are made out of calico with leather corners.
An improved version, model VIIa, was also available that provided a spindle drive mechanism for adjustment.
A third special version, model VIIb was also available for use in tropical climates and for scientific expeditions. It was constructed of teak wood with nickel fittings.
